Who should take the Shelter Adoption Academy e-learning course?
The Shelter Adoption Academy has been designed for staff and volunteers working in public and private shelters, rehoming and rescue organisations.
Why should I take the Shelter Adoption Academy?
If you work within the field of animal adoption but have limited resources, skills, knowledge and a low adoption rate then this course is for you. It is designed to bring an answer to the most common obstacles to local shelter adoption and offers a concrete solution to the many shelters around the world in need of support.
Does the whole shelter need to enroll in the course?
Not necessarily. As a minimum we recommend that at least the shelter manager/director takes part in the course. However, to truly take advantage of the benefits of the course we encourage most of the shelter staff and volunteers to participate.
Apart from a certificate, do I get anything else for taking the course?
Yes! Upon completion of the course you can request our Adoption Success Kit which includes all additional tools and protocols from the course printed and sent to your shelter. We can also create and send to your shelter Custom Promotional Leaflets. If you would like to take advantage please email SAPonline@four-paws.org. Please note we offer one Adoption Success Kit and 100 Promotional leaflets per shelter/organisation.
Does the Shelter Adoption Academy offer financial support to shelters?
Unfortunately, the programme is unable to offer financial support to shelters or other organisations.
How much does the Shelter Adoption Academy cost?
The course is completely free. We want to support all shelters in finding loving long-term homes for dogs and cats.
What happens if I cannot pass the quizzes at the end of the modules?
In order to proceed to the next module learners will have to pass all the quizzes at the end of each module. But don’t worry! Learners have unlimited opportunities to pass the quizzes and the course.
Can I take only some modules and not the entire course?
Unfortunately, no. This course is a comprehensive training programme where each module builds upon the previous one.
